The first week of September has come and gone and life is still marching on . . .
towards Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Can you tell I love this time of year?

We've has a lot of rain lately, thankfully no flooding, just the way I like it. We've had a very hot summer and the rain is refreshing.
Last week wasn't my best week, I spent my days with biofreeze, Tylenol and muscle relaxers. I woke last Wednesday to a very bad muscle spasm in my back, a quick trip to the doctor was a must. Took me three days to feel relief, it was so painful. Good news is I'm so much better!
Thank You Lord.
While I was recovering I put this CD in the player and played it over and over. It lifted my spirits to praise God and feel Him with me.
A great list of hymns on this album, some of my favorites:
Victory In Jesus
Just As I Am
Softly and Tenderly
Near the Cross
I love this, maybe you will to:
Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart❤ that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to always live with that mindset? I try, but sorry to say I fall short so many times, but I try to keep my eye on the cross and keep moving toward my gift of salvation.
Family:
Sharing a picture of my girls and their hubbys that was taken a few weeks ago when they were on vacation at the cabin in Wyoming.
Blessed!
On The Porch:
Last spring my daughter gave me a cutting from her plumeria plant. It was only a few inches tall and I have babied that plant all summer. My efforts have paid off.
Humor:
Now to keep it alive during the winter (will winter ever get here). These plants are very sensitive to cold temps and will need to be inside when the temps drop, then I'll hope for the best because they are not house plants either.
Plumeria was just introduced to our area a few years ago and I know very little about them, only that they make a very pretty flower that smells great. It's a tropical plant that has become very popular here.
Time for another cup!
Until Next Time
I am slow going this am as I cannot fave anything to eat or drink until after my 8:30 doctors appt. I may stipe by Cracker Barrel for a restorative. Glad you back is one the mend.
ReplyDeleteSure hope all goes well at the doctor. Cracker Barrel is a great place for restoration!
DeleteLove this lovely way to wake up this morning! I've got my teacup right here and I've enjoyed reading your post. I am sorry to hear that you were suffering so much last week. Glad it is getting better now. I always feel like I've been sitting with you at your kitchen table after I visit here. Thank you. I need that kind of fellowship today. Have a blessed and beautiful week all week long. Praying the storms move in different directions...a little rain is wonderful...but we don't need those tropical things...
ReplyDeletePamela, I would love for you to visit with me at my kitchen table, oh what fun we would have!! A cup of tea for you and a mug of coffee for me, let the chatter begin. We will chat a while and praise God a while and maybe have some cookies too.
DeleteGlad you are on the mend. Good for you on the plant. I love being able to make things live and grow like that.
ReplyDeleteAgain I must say your blog is one of my favorites! I love it!!! Thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brenda!!
DeleteWhat a lovely post, Mary...so sorry to read about your back.
ReplyDeletePouring rain here in western NY and only 53*. I'm not complaining, it's better than the 100* we were having.
Hope you have a beautiful day, friend.
I am anxiously waiting for 53* temps! Wishing you a beautiful day also!! ((hugs))
DeleteGood morning, Mary! Hope you have a pain free day!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI'm enjoying my second cup of java as I read your post today! I'm so glad your back pain has eased!! Praise God!! I love the old hymns, Mary. I have not been able to fully enjoy the more modern Christian music. Give me the old hymns and gospel singers and I will praise God loudly right along with them!
ReplyDeleteThe new music is great (most of it anyway) but it will never replace the old hymns for me. So glad you stopped by!
DeleteNice to visit here this morning! I am notorious for sending plants to their deaths. I just do not have a green thumb. I thought I had killed a plant my son gave me for Mother's Day -- it's an outdoor plant so its days before a frost are numbered anyway -- but for now it has rebounded and looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteI liked the peek into your journal and the notation that God is bigger and stronger than anything we will ever face.
Have a blessed week and I hope it will be free of pain.
I'm sorry your back was so sore for days! But I'm relieved that you are feeling better now. I hope the spasms DON"T COME BACK.
ReplyDeleteIt's been cool and raining here too, rain that we are so thankful for.
I've never heard of a Plumeria plant but I hope yours thrives and someday blooms for you.
I am so sorry to hear what a bad week you had last week! Those muscle spasms are terrible. I've never had one in my back (only the calves of my legs), but my father-in-law used to have them in his back and I know they are enough to make a grown man cry. I'm glad you are doing better. Loved the pictures of your girls and their spouses! Now I am off to research about this Plumeria plant.
ReplyDeleteMorning Mary my coffee kindred spirit LOL! I'm sitting here with my second giant mug full of coffee. I'm so happy to hear you are feeling better. Muscle spasms are horrible. What a wonderful photo of your girls and their hubbies. Never heard of the Plumeria plant, I'm going to check it out. Have a blessed day my friend.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful you are doing better, Mary. Muscle spasms aren't for the weak (which I am).
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have cramping in my toes and that isn't fun. Never heard of Plumeria plant, hope it survives the winter for you! Take care my friend.
