Goodbye Christmas!

It's Christmas Day night, the house is quiet and the Christmas lights are glowing.  Seems like I waited so long for Christmas to come and "puff" it's over and tomorrow it will be just a memory.

And Life Goes On!

Since my last blog life has been busy.  We had a wonderful GLOW Christmas lunch with six in attendance.  That's very good for our small group.  So much fun and laughter was shared while enjoying a wonderful meal.  We met at one of the nicer restaurants in our home town, and even splurged on dessert.  I had a wonderful banana pudding, my friend had a bourbon pecan pie, which I will be having next time.  It looked so good.

Mr D and I celebrated our 57th wedding anniversary, we've been married so long it's hard to remember life without him.  Even in my childhood memories I feel him with me, I know that must sound crazy....but it's true.

Our family Christmas Party was so much fun.  Mr D and the grandsons led us in a sing along that was enjoyed by everyone.  We were going to play games but we sang too long, sweet Peggy (baby daughter) managed to squeeze in one game that was played by all, even the little ones.  Great grandson Carter Jack was a winner!!

This is all of our great grands!  There's Carter on the far left.

Our menu was loaded baked potatoes with chopped beef, oh so good and so easy.  Daughter #1 didn't have to spend too much of her day in the kitchen and that's the way we like it...everyone brought snacks or dessert and plenty of food was had by all.

Daughter #1 and her family, Christmas 2019

Goodbye Christmas 2019, you gave us some great memories.

Number two daughter is having foot surgery on New Year's Eve, what a way to welcome the new year.  She has to be at the hospital in the very early morning and should get to come home by late afternoon.  They will keep her in recovery long enough to make sure she is stable and everything is 'working' like it should.  Please remember her in your prayers.

I'm going to be taking down my Christmas over the next few days and do a little house cleaning along the way.  Because of my health it takes me longer to get things done, the good thing is, I can still get them done!!

Hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas!

Until Next Time

You're right about the waiting for Christmas and then poof and it's over. That's why I'm glad we drag ours out for 2 days. My Mennonite folks held 3 days of Christmas!!!

  5. Happy anniversary! Wishes for good health and happiness for years to come. So enjoyed your family pictures.
I'm leaving my holiday decor until after New Year's. I want to enjoy my snowmen for just a little while longer before they're put away for next year. It did seem to go poof and gone and after all the plans and excitement.

Taking down Christmas decorations - yes, not nearly so fun as putting them up but necessary so they don't get dusty!!! LOL

Congrats on 57 years of marriage to a good man. The Lord has surely blessed you and him with a beautiful family!

  12. I am still getting caught up on posts, and just saw that you celebrated your 57th Anniversary! Wow! Congratulations! That is a wonderful blessing and accomplishment in this day and age. I love your Christmas family pictures...you have a very talented and sweet family. Loved seeing them playing and singing on Facebook. Praying for your daughter today as she has surgery. I expect she is already there and things are moving along well by now. Prayers going up. We will hope to hear a good report later. Have a blessed and wonderful New Year! Hard to believe we are moving into a new decade...the "roaring 20's"! Praying for peace and not too much "roar". God bless you all.
