Have you ever heard the phrase, Riding out the Storm?
Looks like that's what we'll be doing in the days to come.
Two at the same time, I don't think that's ever happened before. Today we are dead center in the middle of the prediction cone, that's not good. Two storms at the same time will cause severe flooding inland as the storm surge rolls in.
A lot can happen in the next few days, these storms have a mind of their own and a lot of things could change. One thing that won't change, two storms will make landfall about the same time somewhere along the coast. Florida to Texas will be watching very closely.
The good thing, it will remain a tropical storm or only a cat. 1 hurricane. For us that means no mandatory evacuations and we will be able to stay home. The last time Houston and surrounding areas had to evacuate was terrible. Every highway was bumper to bumper traffic for hours and hours. Fortunately for us, we left early and eventho we had heavy traffic, we missed the bumper to bumper nightmare.
Houston evacuating for Hurricane Rita. Every highway was like this for miles and miles.
And now here's some good news! Little Hazel Kay will be making her arrival into this world in just a few more weeks. We are happy for Matt and Kaylea, they are going to be great parents.
Kaylea has her coming home outfit all ready.

A new baby to love. 🤍
Our niece and her children are in Houston (Dad is military and away for training) so good to hear it will be relatively mild. Still.... Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you will miss the worst of the weather, Mary. Very frightening.
ReplyDeletePraying those 'double trouble' storms pack little oomph -- and y'all aren't affected too much. Hazel's is a beautiful nursery, and I love her homecoming outfit!
ReplyDeleteYikes on those storms...keeping in prayer.
ReplyDeleteI just love that old fashion name; Hazel, smiles. I love her nursery/room. smiles
I love that they are bringing back an old fashioned name!! I hope it is a trend and some of the crazy names we see these days will go away! LOL Praying about those two storms. They now say Florida will be spared, but as you said, they have a mind of their own. Who knows what they will do. Be safe!!
ReplyDeleteI hope these hurricanes are turned away. Hoorah for little Hazel. A great Biblical name too.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you will have another sweet little one to love. I still am amazed that nowadays parents know in advance what sex their baby will be.
ReplyDeleteI hope the storms don't affect you. Stay safe. gM
I will keep you in prayer regarding the storms. How exciting for baby Hazel to bring blessing to her family. The outfit is so cute!
