Friday Fotos

I guess we're storm watchers, we had to see what was happening at Sylvan Beach.  There were a lot of people there proving we're not the only storm watchers in town. 😊

The skies looked stormy and the water was a little high, not much more than a normal high tide.

The gulls knew something was brewing, they would gather in large groups on the ground then suddenly burst into flight, a routine they continued while we were there.

We drove to Shoreacreas, a community just south of us wanting to see what the bay water was doing there.  We were very surprised to see this Momma and Baby wandering the streets.

It was obvious that Momma was not happy.

Mr D drove very slow and tried not to get too close, we didn't want to scare her more than she was.

I felt so bad when a snappy little dog came running from a driveway and scared momma and baby so much they took off running and both jumped over a chain link fence into someone's yard.  About the same time the dog's owner came out taking the little stinker back home.  The last we could see, momma and baby looked peaceful and safe in someone's backyard.

After all this we decided an ice cream cone was in order so we headed to Dairy Queen only to find a very long line at their drive in window.  The inside has been closed since C19 so we couldn't go in and Mr D wouldn't wait so we came home and made a pot of coffee instead. 😊

Until Next Time

  1. I hope mama and baby made it back home and maybe you can get an ice cream this weekend.

  2. Maybe you need to keep an ice cream or two in the freezer!

  3. I always feel bad for people displaced and homes destroyed but my heart aches for the pets left behind and for the wildlife when disasters happen. Long lines are always disappointing when we have our hearts set on getting something. I don't wait either!

  4. I totally believe, just because they can't communicate in language we understand, that birds and animals aren't super intuitive. I've even heard they can predict tornados. Hope you'll decide another trip to Dairy Queen is in order!

  6. I'm sorry you didn't get your ice cream. I hope you'll go back and try again. Here the restrictions have lifted enough so we can go inside to order and even sit and eat. I'm not comfortable with going in though. Too risky.
I hope that mama deer and her fawn will be okay. I wonder what she was doing in town. Guess we'll never know.

  7. Ice cream solves everything but a nice cup of coffee is good too!
Lovely photos. I like the seagulls especially.

  8. I am glad you guys were safe. Ice cream always sounds like a good idea. We have to get low sugar. Maybe I will ask hubby if we can get some this weekend. We can't go in and eat anywhere. Lots of places have set up tables, chairs and umbrellas outside. Enjoy your weekend!
