September
Welcome to Tuesday 4 where we honor the memory and legacy of our dear friend Toni Taddeo who started the concept of Tuesday 4 years ago. Thanks to Annie @ Cottage By The Sea for hosting!
Since this week is the first week in September and autumn is on the way, lets discuss that topic,
okay?
1.What memories does September bring back to you of school, autumn, songs, movies? Would you share with us?

1.What memories does September bring back to you of school, autumn, songs, movies? Would you share with us?
When I was in school, many years ago,
school always started the Tuesday after Labor Day. I loved school and always looked forward to a new school year.
2. September is the first of what are called the "ber" months. and the end of summer and beginning of autumn. Which do you enjoy more, summer or autumn and why?
This is not a hard question for me, I love autumn much more than summer because it's cooler. Although most years we don't get cool weather until November. Autumn is half over!!
3.Have you ever gone apple or pumpkin picking or gone into a corn maze? What was that like?
I've never done any of the above. I buy my apples and pumpkins at the local grocery store. I may have walked through a corn field years ago, I really don't remember.
4.Are fall weekends different for you than summer weekends? What do you enjoy in autumn?
Being retired weekends aren't much different than weekdays. I do enjoy porch sitting in the fall, so refreshing after the long months of hot weather.

Hi Mary, I guess we both have to wait for autumn to really get here. We use to be off school from mid June until after Labor day. Now the kids start school in August, get a whole week at Thanksgiving and 3 weeks after Christmas! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI can remember when school started after Labor Day, too. I think it changed here when my son was in school...sometime in the 90's. I guess the old traditions of farm kids needing to be home on the farm for certain months didn't matter any longer.
ReplyDeleteI am like Granny on Downton Abbey, What is a weekend. Retirement does seem like an eternal weekend.
ReplyDeleteSquealing with delight over your siggy, Mary, grin. I hope you have a beautiful day, friend.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all of your answers.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Tuesday my friend.
Refreshing ... exactly! Even if the temperatures are warmer than what we prefer, I think Autumn's a state of mind.
ReplyDeleteI loved that it started after Labor Day. It meant summer was over. I'm also happy that my children went back after Labor Day too. They are 39 & 41. I agree, being retired the weekends are pretty much the same year round.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to some fall weather here too. Usually in October we start feeling the cooler days and nights and lower humidity, although we can have hot days with AC on Christmas here! But autumn is a state of mind. We can decorate and pretend its cold enough for hayrides and bonfires! Have a blessed week/weekend/retirement week!
ReplyDeleteFor me today marks the beginning of Fall. I'm going to bake some Butternut squash to celebrate. We can have it as a side today and tomorrow I'll use the leftovers to make soup.
ReplyDeleteSounds to good and a perfect way to start the 'ber' months!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like it goes from hot to cold here. Autumn would be so much more fun if it would be in the 70's for a few months. It cools down in October in Missouri. Loved your answers! Have a nice Tuesday!

Mary, I said in my blog today that when you are retired, you have six Saturdays and one Sunday! That feels about right, I think! I enjoyed your Tuesday 4!
ReplyDeleteI hope we all get the best autumn ever this year. It's been difficult.
