True wisdom is something that we need. Like grace, wisdom is something God offers and which we must receive. It is a gift.
Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Godly wisdom is from God and honors God. Godly wisdom starts with the fear of God and results in a holy life. Worldly wisdom, on the other hand, is not concerned with honoring God but with pleasing oneself. With worldly wisdom, we may become educated, street-smart, and have “common sense” that enables us to play the world’s game successfully. Godly wisdom enables us to prepare ourselves for eternity. With godly wisdom, we trade earthly values for biblical values. We recognize we are citizens of another kingdom, and we make choices that reflect that allegiance.
Having godly wisdom means we strive to see life from God’s perspective and act accordingly.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit;
wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. 😃
Until Next Time
I enjoyed your post Mary. I am finally back now that my laptop is repaired.
ReplyDeleteGodly wisdom should be our daily seeking guide. I am afraid some days that I choose my wisdom over HIS! BIG FAT MISTAKE too! LOL! Trusting His wisdom today. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOh that more people would search the Scriptures for wisdom in their daily lives. We would all be much better off if we did as you suggest, Mary. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteKnowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit---thank you Mary...and thank you for the fits of giggles. smiles
ReplyDeleteSo powerful and true, Mary!
ReplyDeleteYes! And I always love that last quote when I read it!! Truth!!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha, I love that last quote about the tomato! Good one. And yes, we need more Godly wisdom in order to survive in this world today. Worldly wisdom may get us some places in this world, but it sure doesn't get us into heaven or give us true lasting peace. I am so thankful for God's Word and for the peace that He gives us to endure what is going on around us in the world. Great post.
ReplyDeletePreparing ourselves for eternity, that's what life is all about.
