Love is happiness that is shown day after day.
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, a special day for love. Mr D and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, sometimes he'll get me a card or a box of candy and sometimes he'll give me a pretty bouquet of flowers. Most of the time, he gives me a kiss and I kiss him too, we exchange 'I love yous' and enjoy being home together. So simple and sweet, so meaningful even after 60 years together,
“When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody,
you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
Nora Ephron, “When Harry Met Sally”
Morning Routine:
I am a creature of habit. I have a morning routine that I do every morning. If something happens to interfer in my routine my entire day seems off. I'm a late sleeper because I'm a night owl. I like to be up and having my coffee by 10am because I watch The Price is Right every morning. After it's over I take my meds and watch the local news. I take my sugar level before I eat anything which is always something light. I then do the exercises they taught me in rehab. Last and certainly not least, I do my Bible study. Most people do their study first thing, but I find I'm more alert later in the morning. My mind is clear and ready to recieve His Word.
“Nobody has ever measured, even poets,
how much a heart can hold.”
Zelda Fitzgerald
What I'm Studying.
Along with reading a psalm every day, I'm studying as I read through Romans. It's a study that Crosswalk offered on facebook, so I took it, afterall it was free.
These little treasures hang from the zipper of my Bible. Each one is a reminder of something or someone special in my life.
“You don’t love someone because they’re perfect,
love them in spite of the fact that they’re not.”
Jodi Picoult, “My Sister’s Keeper”
Family News:
Tammy and Peggy and their hubbies left Saturday on an eight day cruise. They love cruises and go often. That's one thing that just doesn't interest me at all. I do enjoy the pictures they're sending, it's good to see them having a good time.
Tammy shared this yesterday!

Coffee Trivia
Light roast coffee has more caffeine that dark roast coffee.
The longer coffee is roasted, the more caffeine is cooked
from the bean.
Coffee was originally regarded as a wonder drug in Yemen and
Arabia and was taken only at the advice of a doctor.
Many saw coffee as a brain tonic or as a way to stimulate religious visions.

And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

Until Next Time
I knew that about coffee beans but not about Jesse James. Never cared about the wild and wooly West but my mother went to see the car Bonnie & Clyde rode in, which was on display in Ft Worth, Texas...she said it was a sad sight.

Your three tiered tray looks very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love your decorated 3 tier tray. So very pretty. The picture your daughter sent is so beautiful. I cruised twice many years ago and loved it, but honestly have no desire to do it again.
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to go on a cruise in January of next year, my girlfriend talked us into it, but neither of us really want to go. We may just let the depost go and skip it. I hate wasting the money, but have no desire to go again. We went once about 10 years ago and for me, that was enough. It was fun and no one was sick but I'd rather stay home.
ReplyDeleteYour 3-tier tray is just beautiful. I really like seeing your various ways of decorating it.
We don't do much for Valentine's Day either, although Dennis had a bouquet of flowers wating for me when I arrived home from the airport late Friday night. We rarely do that though. Usually, like you, we just kiss and share I love you's.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
I've never had a religious vision after drinking coffee but it sure wakes my brain up!! I don't think I'd enjoy a cruise either but lots of folks do go, some multiple times. I'm just a homebody, I guess.
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is extra special around here because it's middle son's birthday. Granny M
I love your three tier tray Miss Mary. Marty usually gives me a huge box of candy and I eat one piece. Guess you eats the rest? LOL! Our Valentine's is low key but like you and Mr. D, we never forget to express our love for one another. My birthday so close to V-day that I choose to do special for that day as that is the day the Lord created me and designed me. Flaws and all. Hope Tammy has fun. I have been wanting to go on a three days cruise but it just hasn't worked out for us yet. I too am such a creature of habit and I am not an early morning riser! Matter of fact I would rather no one speak until I am on the 2nd cup of coffee. LOL!!! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the cruises. We went on one about 11 years ago and just didn't enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteYou probably know I'm an early riser and take my walk as soon as I get up.
I just got finished reading Deuteronomy. I read some of my Bible every day and at the end of the year have read the whole Bible - have done that for many years now.
Never been on a cruise and never had any desire to do so. I get motion sickness so easily that I just don't think it would be wise for me to even try. I'd have to stay drugged all the time. LOL. I love your VAlentine's tiered tray. It looks so pretty and festive! We don't do much for Valentine's Day either. Usually we exchange cards, but I'm not sure we are doing that this year. We shall see what happens tomorrow. LOL We have our morning routines as well, but we get up quite early, usually no later than 6 a.m., sometimes earlier. Just can't stay in the bed any longer, but then again, we go to bed early, like no later than 10 pm. Hubby has his coffee in the morning and I have one cup of tea. That's usually enough for me unless it is really cold and I am feeling like I need more to get me going or to warm me up. We do our morning devotions together after we've had our coffee/tea, and then we have breakfast and get ready for the day. I hope you have a pleasant and happy Valentine's Day tomorrow. I enjoyed visiting here today.
ReplyDeleteIt was years after I retired that I stopped waking up at 5:30am. I also went to be early, that's the way it's done when you work. Happy Valentine's Day to you too ♥
DeleteYour little tier's decorated so pretty! The little doilie remins me, I want to 'do' something with those of my mother/grandmother that are just sitting in the hope chest, neglected. Thank you for sharing your morning routine with us. My Tom's the same as you, but I'm the early bird -- have to constantly curb my enthusiasm. LOL.
