Hello Monday!
Tammy brought me flowers for my birthday last Friday! It's a Reiger Begonia, the blooms look like little roses, a very pretty plant.
It was a very quiet and peaceful weekend at my house. The weather was nice and I managed to do some porch-sitting while the dogbabies played in the yard. They are liking this springy weather too. My plants look terrible from the hard freeze we had earlier, some are showing new growth and that's a good sign. It's going to be a slow process but I don't think I lost any. My Hearts of Hawaii really look bad, I'm holding my breath with them. I think I'll repot them and see if that will help to make them come back to life. With that said, the porch was still very inviting and I enjoyed my time out there. The porch also serves as my prayer closet when the weather allows. I love to be with the Lord when I'm out there, I can feel Him with me.

Coffee Trivia:
You Can Thank Goats for Coffee
Did you know goats were the reason why coffee was invented? According to legend, in the 9th century, Ethiopian farmers noticed the way their goats danced when they ate the Coffea plant. A local monk decided to give it a try and realized the drink kept him up at night and thus, coffee was born.
Around Town:
The seagulls were waiting for supper. They are always hanging around the boat ramp waiting for boaters to come in, hoping to get their left over bait.
Family Time:
Granddaughter Maegan and her daughter Ava. 💕
Great grandson Henry, he's growing like a weed.
Blessings From Heaven:
Speaking from my own heart, it's been a wonderful experience becoming better acquainted with some of the many and marvelous blessings that are ours in Christ Jesus. . . blessings from the very heights of heaven. It's incredible to realize that as children and daughters of the King, you and I have received "every spiritual blessing"(Ephesians 1;30). Believe it, because God says it! This fact alone should prompt us to fall to our knees in adorating praise. My friend, as you are obedient to God and rely on the power of the Spirit, you will experience the daily reality of your heavenly blessings in Christ.
Reiger Begonia:
Rieger begonias are lovely flowering plants that bloom in bright pinks, reds, yellows, oranges, and whites. Rieger Begonias (Begonia x hiemalis) are popular houseplants with gorgeous
flowers with gorgeous blooms.
Rieger Begonias are hybrid crosses of Fibrous Wax Begonias and Tuberous Flowering Begonias.
They thrive in indirect light and moist potting soil. They’re also very easy to grow!
Watering Rieger begonia
Rieger Begonia thrives with moist, well-draining soil. In addition, soggy soil can lead to root rot
and powdery mildew. So, it’s best to wait until the top layer of soil becomes dry before watering.
You can check the soil’s moisture levels by sticking your finger in the soil. If it’s dry, go ahead and
water your plant. If not, wait a few days and check again.

Today's Prayer:
Lord, help me to think of others and to share Your love with them so they, too, can experience the countless blessing You give. I want to hold tightly to Your magnificent promises and the great gifts of Your peace, love, and grace.
Amen
Until Next Time
Please pour me some coffee
a cup or two.
Then I'm sure I'll be totally new

That is a very pretty begonia and such a lovely colour.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers Mary! And seeing your granddaughter and her child makes me think of my babies and how grown they are getting. I can't imagine them being parents :) I'm not going to rush things :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, the goat and coffee story is hilarious! What a discovery!
I too enjoy sitting on our porch. Not quite warm enough for that yet but I do look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteA lovelly prayer.
Beautiful flowers.
I'm so glad coffee was discovered! How would I face my day without a cup...or two! Your Begonia is so pretty. I have no luck at all keeping one alive so I've given up. GM
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful flower for your birthday! Thanks for sharing about how coffee came to be. I don't drink coffee, but that was interesting and now I've learned something new today!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully uplifting post, Mary! That Henry's such a doll; I'd love to squeeze on his sweet goodness. Neat backstory on the coffee beans; I'll never regard a goat in quite the same way. (lol)
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your sweet great-grandbabies. They are always such a delight. And I love the goat and coffee story. Never heard that one before. Your begonias are gorgeous. Did I wish you a happy birthday? I'm not sure now. Maybe I did on Facebook. I hope so. Seems like all the days are running together now and I'm a bit behind in everything. I always enjoy your posts, however. Happy Monday to you.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful grandbabies. Henry's smile is darling. Your begonias are so pretty and happy looking and you made me laugh out loud at the story of the goats. I'll have to remember to tell my coffee loving daughter and my Hubby that one. I'm not a coffee drinker at all but I do love my tea.
ReplyDeleteI was able to porch sit for just a few minutes yesterday with a jacket on. Soon it will be the perfect weather for enjoying my morning tea on the balcony.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
I almost forgot to say I love your new St. Patrick's header. So cheerful!
I am so thankful for COFFEE!!! Love the beautiful Begonia and the pictures are adorable. That little Henry is surely growing. Happy March. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
