Monday Coffee Talk – August 17, 2026
Last week was a slow one
for us. Mr D had his regular check up
with the cardiologist and all is well, he doesn’t go back until February. Pacemaker is doing it’s job.
If you look closely you'll see a little white box sitting on the nightstand by the curtain. That little box monitors his pacemaker, sending data straight to his doctor's phone. They would probably know before Mr D if anything was wrong. Modern technology at work.
We had some plumbing
issues, thankfully Mr D and his good friend Arnold were able to get things done
without having to call a $$plumber$$, Our pocketbook was thankful.
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
We seldom eat fried foods these days, but sometimes we splurge and enjoy a bucket of fried chicken. We didn’t order any sides as we were bringing it home and had things here to complete our meal.
COPD:
Sometimes
what I want to do overloads what I can do. {{sigh}}
Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly. Birds fly over the rainbow; why, then, oh why can't I?
Chronological
Bible Reading:
This
past week we were reading in Jeremiah, as I read the following scripture I couldn't help but think, The Majesty of God.
Jeremiah 5:22
Little brother Wayne celebrated his 77th birthday this past week. I called and sang Happy Birthday to him, and he just laughed and said he doesn’t have birthdays anymore. I don’t know why I still call him “little brother” — old habits have a way of hanging on. I suppose “younger brother” would be better, but in my heart he’ll always be my little brother. And I'll always be 'sister', which he calls me.
Hope everyone has a great
week ahead.
Until Next Time
Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.
