This, That and Snow!

 Seems like so much has been happening since my last post!

Let me just tell ya all about it.

My oxygen machine went out, oh no.  Thankfully service is always quick and they were here with a new machine within hours. 

(Supposedly "state of the art", fancy dancy new machine, look at that red light!)

 Then, 24 hours later the new one went out. {{sigh}} It didn't take service long to get here with another machine.  I am thankful for their promptness, but it sure leaves me leary for a while. I get into the mindset of when is this one going to stop.  .....I know Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who will provide, I know I shouldn't fret so.

In the Kitchen:

The pendant light that hangs over the sink went kaput, just no more light even with a new bulb.  It's the light I use while at the sink, without it there is a shadow from the overhead light making it hard for me to see well.  Can't have dirty dishes going back in the cupboard. It was beyond repair so a new light was ordered and now sits in its box waiting to be installed.  Hopefully they'll get it done soon.  

We woke up one very cold morning to find our heater wasn't working.  Again, we use a great repair service, one we've used for many years, and they were here within an hour.  After being in the attic for a short while they found the problem and had it fixed. (Our furnace is in the attic.)  Again, so thankful for good service, we are warm and toasty now. It's a good thing because we have 3-4 inches of snow on the ground.  Something very rare for us.

For those of you who live in areas where snow is a normal event, here it is not normal at all.  What might look like a little snow to some has this area practically shut down.  Since I don't have to get out in it, I'm thoroughly enjoying it all.  Snow is pretty, too bad it brings so many issues with it.

Tammy and Bo just returned from a cruise this past Sunday.  She posted this picture this morning.

What a difference four days make.

I love one of our favorite places to eat is open and ready for business.  I would love to go enjoy a bowl of their soup, but I guess Mr D and I will stay in.

The snow will turn to ice overnight causing major problems through midday tomorrow.  Then it will start to warm up, typical Texas temps by the end of the week.  And this lady hope to GLOW on Saturday.

Enough snow talk, let's talk about

When we make mistakes, He does not banish us to a spiritual junkyard. No, He salvages our mistakes because He cares for us.

God ain't finished with you yet. Your Father wants you to know that.

"This is what the Lord says...'I have summoned you by name; you are mine."' (Isaiah 43:1)

He personally sees to our needs. We all receive Jesus' touch. We all experience His care.

The Road To Emmaus:

Mourning the death of Jesus, two first-century travelers were joined by a mysterious stranger.  Over the next few hours the stranger revealed mysteries hidden in the ancient scriptures.  Soon, the purpose of Jesus' life became clear and the travelers' sadness turned to great joy.

Grape Juice

STORM UPDATE

I am so thankful that the storm in the gulf has taken a turn and we won't be taking a direct hit.  With that said, my heart is heavy for those who are in harms way.  Please join me in prayer for the people of Louisiana and Mississippi, that God will protect them and hold back the intensity of this storm.

We are being advised to be alert for any changes in the forecast.  

I'm sharing a post I prepared on the second of July and never published.

I'm a believer now!!

Last October Mr D and I started drinking a little glass of grape juice every evening.  I had read where grape juice is a great deterrent for stomach flu and also helps with digestion.  What I didn't know is it helps lower your bad cholesterol, something I have fought for quite some time.

Yes I take a statin...😟

I had blood work done just a few weeks ago and for the first time my cholesterol was good.  I still didn't associate it with grape juice....

until I read this....

Grape juice is very beneficial for the stomach. Grapes are a fruit with many beneficial nutrients, two are vitamin C and potassium. Grape juice has the potential to reduce the risk of your body from developing blood clots. It also helps to reduce the LDL cholesterol level, which can prevent the damage of blood vessels around heart. Besides that, grape juice also can give other benefit, such as maintaining a healthy blood pressure.

Yep, I'm a believer now!

I also have blood pressure issues which I'm on medication for....maybe the grape juice is also helping me in that area.

Grapes are used to cure asthma, indigestion, migraines, kidney disease, and fatigue.

(Asthma???  Maybe it will help my COPD.)

It's a good thing we both love grape juice, this routine is going to be easy peasy!

There are 60 species and around 8000 varieties of grapes that can be found throughout the world today.

I am so thankful for grapes!

Today's Journey:
I haven't gone anywhere today, opting to stay home and let the siblings be together with their mom. I spent a lot of Sunday afternoon with her and I feel she knew I was there.  Her room is small, only room for one folding chair and her wheelchair, so we take turns being in the room with her. The small chair is so hard on my back and legs that I can't sit for too long before I become restless and have to get up and walk for a while.  The waiting as she lingers is hard on the family, emotionally as well as physically.  Mr D's youngest brother and sister have been taking turns staying the night, at this point she has family with her at all times.

My hope for you:
Each time you look up in the sky
Or watch the fluffy cloud drift by,
Or feel the sunshine warm and bright,
Or watch the dark night turn to light,
Or hear a bluebird sweetly sing,
Or see the winter turn to spring,
Or touch a leaf or see a tree,
