1. Food: ~ Do you buy brand names or go for the cheaper store name brand?
It depends, some of the cheaper brands are very good, others not so much. I will usually at least try and see if it's good.
2. Clothes: ~ Wear designer jeans/slacks with a brand name or regular department store jeans/slacks?
I do wear Vanderbilt jeans, not because of the brand name but because they fit me the best.
3. Handbags: ~ Buy a designer bag or look for a less expensive copy?
Here I definitely buy the less expensive copy. I do buy a good handbag but not designer bags.
4. Shoes: ~ You got the drift, designer or a cheaper copy?

Once again, I buy good shoes but not 'designer' brands....I'm not going to pay $100+ for shoes. For boots maybe a little more.....but not much!

ReplyDeleteHi Mary. I too check out non brand items when food shopping. I usually would buy fruits and veggies from local farmers when they are in season. As for clothing that's a different story except for handbags I will buy good but not expensive as I rarely carry one anymore. Have a day of blessings my friend.
ReplyDeleteI've checked out the store brands but usually end up going right back to the brand names. I also won't pay 100 for a bag or shoes. Too much!!
ReplyDeleteI just gave my answers on Ann's blog. This was interesting. I am not a style maven, comfort is my "brand". Since I am retired, I don't buy much of anything new or name-brand...except Levi's and Skecher's shoes.

ReplyDeleteI'm not hard on shoes, boots and clothes in general and I don't follow fashion. When I do need something I look for it at the thrift store.
I rarely buy anything in the clothing line, footwear line, or handbag line unless they are DEEP sale!! I enjoyed your answers!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a really good shopper because I don't really like to shop. But I don't feel too badly when I spend quite a bit on clothes or shoes because I know I will wear it for a very long time. And I don't change purses often. But I don't shop for the name unless I have purchased in the past and know it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteI do buy Vera Bradley purses just because I like them, but I typically only buy them on sale. As for food, I mix it up. Some brand name and some store brand. Clothes and shoes are whatever feels most comfortable and preferably on sale. I’m all about comfortable these days.
