Hello June

And the countdown begins!

Here comes the heat and humidity and I am now counting the days until November.  It's usually November before we see the first cool front.  I am not a summer person anymore, there was a day when I looked forward to summer fun, but not so much anymore.

With all that said, I will still enjoy being on the porch, with my coffee and talking with the Lord.  It's my happy place, among the flowers and watching the birds feasting at their feeder.

My heart is heavy because of all the riots happening through out our country.  It's hard to understand why some people think they have to do that to make a point, it's just hate, plain and simple.  Satan in full form.  He knows his time is short and he's doing all he can to wreck havoc on earth.

We have a powerful weapon, PRAYER . . .

2 Chronicles 7:14

. . . if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

I'm looking forward to next Saturday.  The GLOW ladies are going to meet again . . WooHoo!  There is a Mexican restaurant close by that has an outdoor patio where we can sit and enjoy being together.  We feel being outside gives us an edge of protection against the dreaded virus.  I don't know if everyone will attend, some are not ready to get out, and I respect that.

Here's an old GLOW picture of Sandy and I celebrating our birthday.  Our birthdays are one day apart and one year apart, we've celebrated together many, many times!

Precious Memories.

We've had some heavy storms come through our area lately, high wind gusts and heavy rain.
This in just a short time, the storm clouds made it so dark the street lights came on!

A small note:
I thought I had finished this blog and had it saved for today, it written yesterday.  I just came from facebook where our dear friend Pamela Mursch Steiner from Closed Doors, Open Windows https://pamelasopenwindow.blogspot.com/
had posted something that caused an Amen and Amen from me.  I immediately remember a sermon I heard a few days ago about saying, "Amen and Amen."  It rolls from me when I feel deeply about a message from God's Word or a message about God's Word.

When Jesus said, "Verily, Verily," what was he saying?

"Verily, verily"or "Truly, truly," "Most assuredly," or "Amen, amen," depends on the translation. All of His "Verily, verily" statements appear in the book of John, and they are used by Christ only when He is about to teach on a profound matter. The doubled "verily" denotes that what follows is of especially weighty and solemn significance, so we are to pay special attention.

And another note:
I have used the 'new blogger' for this post.  Why or why did they go and change things?  It's not near as user friendly as the old blogger.  It will take me a while to find everything and remember where I found it.  You'll notice the font from a copy and paste I used is not my default for this blog, I couldn't find a default print anywhere.  Yep, this is going to give me problems.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Until Next Time

  1. Good Afternoon Mary! I don't cope with hot temps either. I am enjoying my second blue bird family in the nesting box and my flowers are blooming. I join you in praying for peace in our Country. So happy that your GLOW group is meeting for lunch. Hope you have a very nice visit with the ladies.

  2. Hi Mary. I don't enjoy the extreme heat either. We have had a very warm and windy weekend here in Utah. Let's hope and pray for a peaceful week. The rioting and looting was so terrible and the anti-racism reason for the protests in the first place gets lost in the violence. Hope you have a great week and a nice lunch with your GLOW group. :-)

  3. It was very chilly at 40 last night here and cool today. I am hoping for a cool summer for a change. I hope you don't get too much hot weather either.
You can change the Blogger back to the old one if you like.
I hope your Glow meets and has a lovely time. Outdoors anyone is very unlikely to get ill. Have a great time.
If you want your default print, next time just copy and paste the selected sentences or words onto notepad or wordpad. That will bypass the other person's font. Now select all the writing on notepad again and paste into your blog :) Have a happy, safe and healthy day Mary!

  4. Hi Mary, I am always inspired when I come here. I love how your blog looks and it gives me hope when thinking about changing my blog. I wrote something from my heart today at my blog. You are right, the enemy is raising havoc, but the Lord will prevail! Have a nice week. Oh I love your "Minnie Mouse" mug!

  5. How very nice that you can meet up again with your group. It's been a long time for us all, but in England we are easing things (a bit too quickly we think)

    1. I have tried to visit your blog several times, each time my virus protector blocks me. I don't know what's going on with that. Thank you for visiting with me and I'll keep trying to visit with you.

  6. Wonderful that your GLOW group can once again meet together.
It's unfortunate that your summers are so very very hot. I hope you can stay cool and enjoy the summer from the shade or better yet, from indoors.

  7. How wonderful you're that much closer to breaking bread with your GLOW friends. I must have enjoyed summers as a girl … but that's so long ago, I don't recall. Sure don't care for these hot and humid days. I've not made the plunge to "new blogger" yet, and am dreading doing so.

I started using the new Blogger too and am slowly figuring things out. Facebook is new too. I wonder the same thing as you... why!!!

  9. Our Spring has passed way to quickly as this week our temps will hit nearly 90. I am not ready. Sitting and sipping coffee have become a way of life for me. Prayer and more prayer. Blessings to you,

  10. Mary, I never much cared for summertime but I am trying to appreciate the coolness of the early mornings. Love watching the birds too! Joining you in prayer for our country.

  11. Wow, thank you for the "shoutout" to my blog this morning! God bless you! Was it the post I wrote last night? I labored over that because it is difficult to stay upbeat and positive in the current world situation. We need to encourage one another and have pleasant and peaceful places to "visit" here in Blogland, and yet we also need to encourage one another to seek truth at all times. Thank you for your kind words. You are such a blessing to me, as are all of our special friends here. We really need each other more and more. I am SO happy you get to see your GLOW ladies this week. I know you will all be so happy to be be together again. I am meeting some ladies from our church for lunch today...and that is going to be a blessing too. Praying Cristobal does not head your way. May God keep you and your families safe. Amen!

Great picture of you gals. Always nice to share a birthday celebration with a friend. I just keep wondering Miss Mary when I might see that Easter Sky split and hear the sound of the trumpet???? Hugs and blessings, Cindy
