Monday Coffee Talk

I'm so glad to see you!!

There are flowers enough in the summertime,
More flowers than I can remember—
But none with the purple, gold, and red
That dye the flowers of September!

Mary Howitt (1799-1888)

 September Trivia:

The first newspaper to ever be put into print in the US was published on September 25, 1690.

On September 1, 1752, The Liberty Bell arrives in Philadelphia.

William Taft (president 1909-13) was born on September 15th and is the only US president to have a September birthday.

I finished this cross stitch a few weeks ago.  Sure wish I had some farm fresh eggs.  Tammy had chickens for a while and kept us supplied, she moved on to other things and now we're back to Kroger eggs.

I smell autumn dancing in the breeze.
The sweet chill of pumpkin and crisp
sunburnt leaves.

Eventho it's still hotter than blue blazes here in my part of the world, Visits With Mary has gone into FALL mode.  Redecorating my blog for fall made my heart happy.  Hopefully cooler weather will follow soon.

Texas and Louisiana are both experiencing wildfires, please be in prayer for those in harm's way.

I thank God for the mountains,
and I thank Him for the valleys,
I thank Him for the storms He brought me through.
For if I’d never had a problem,
I wouldn’t know God could solve them,
I’d never know what faith in God could do.
Amen

Blessings to All
Until Next Time

  7. Happy September!! The first newspaper was published on my birthday, about 260 years before me! LOL. I love September and all the fall colors. It was 69 degrees here this morning when we woke up, so we thought fall had come. It soon reached 90 this afternoon, however. So it's not here yet. But we can dream, can't we? Love Maxine...she's a hoot! I love all your little quotes, etc., Praying for those in the path of fires and storms and other disasters. May God give safety and peace and protection to all. Happy September, Mary!! God bless you always.
