 Wilting Flowers Are Still Beautiful

I was looking at a vase on my kitchen countertop this morning, the kind of vase that’s been holding on a little too long. The flowers were leaning like they’d had a long week, petals softening, pretty red roses fading into pink. And yet… I couldn’t bring myself to toss them out.

There’s something tender about a flower that’s past its prime. It’s done all the showy blooming, all the “look at me” moments. Now it’s just quietly being. No pressure. No perfection. Just a gentle bow toward the earth and a reminder that beauty doesn’t disappear — it simply changes shape.

Maybe that’s why I love them. They feel honest. They remind me that life isn’t all fresh bouquets and crisp edges. Sometimes we’re a little droopy, a little worn, a little frayed around the spirit. And still, there’s beauty in us, we have stories to tell and storms we’ve weathered, the grace that settles in once the striving softens.

It brings to mind this verse:

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:

Ecclesiastes 3:1

In God’s steady hands.”

Each line of that verse reminds me that nothing in our lives is random or wasted. God weaves purpose into every chapter (every petal) of quiet mornings on the porch, hard days that stretch us, joyful moments that lift us, and the in‑between times when we’re simply living day by day. It all matters.

So today I’m keeping my wilting flowers right where they are. They make me smile. They whisper truth. And they remind me that even in the fading, there’s a quiet loveliness worth noticing.

Just a little message from an old vase and some wilting flowers.

After all, wilting flowers are still beautiful.

Ain’t God Good?

Oh, Yes He Is.

Heat Wave

WoW !!

Bet I could fry an egg on the sidewalk. 😀

Wasn't too bad on the porch early this morning.

A Bible Verse for Today:

2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glorythat far outweighs them all.

Good News, Bad News

Squealing with delight!!

A third bloom is getting ready to open!

Monday is water the house plants day, and as I was watering I noticed the new bud.
Oh my goodness, I was so excited.

I really didn't think this plant would make it in my care.  I didn't know what it was nor what it needed to survive.  I asked some friends about it, they told me and I've already forgot.

Sometimes I'm surprised I remember my own name. 😄😄😄

I want to share something with you that is quite disturbing.

This article is in the August issue of The Prophetic Newsletter from Dr. Ed Hindson.  I'm just going to share from the first paragraph...

It reads...

At the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly meeting this past week a Satanic Temple member was eto open the government meeting with the phrase "hail Satan", which led to a walk out by several residents and officials.

I would like to know why EVERYONE didn't walk out.

Then from the same article. . .

In 2018, the Chicago chapter of the Satanic Temple forced officials to display a "Snaketivety" statue next to the Christmas tree in the Illinois state house rotunda.
From the Internet
In 2016, the group, to counter evangelical Christian Good News Clubs, created their own after school Satan clubs at public schools.

Reading about this has made me so sad and so angry.  How have we allowed these things to happen?  I feel God has blessed the USA abundantly because we are founded on Christian principals and faith in God.  It seems our country is forgetting the principals of God and allowing Satan to run rampant.

In Psalm 122:6 we are told to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

In my heart I feel He is calling us to pray for the peace of the USA.

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14

Have mercy on us Dear Lord Jesus.

Until Next Time

Please pray for our country.

1-2-3- Flowers

We went to Lowe's so Mr D could buy a new drill.  I really wasn't interested in going with him to the tool section of the store so I headed to the patio/garden area.  I really wasn't looking for anything, but I sure found something..

There was one shelf with just a few of these plants, they looked so healthy and 'different.'  Not your ordinary plant, not down here anyway.

They were already planted in cute little white pots, before I knew what was happening I had three of them in my cart. . .

. . . one for each of my two older girls and one for me!

Baby daughter isn't into plants, her interest are elsewhere.  I'll see something she might like another day.

I don't know what these plants are, there wasn't an identifying tag on them.  I have seen them in arrangements but I don't think I've ever known anyone that has grown them in my area.
I'm anxious to see if I'll be successful getting it to grow.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

To wait upon God is to be silent that He may speak,
expecting all things from Him, and girded for instant, unquestioning obedience
to the slightest movement of His will. That is waiting upon God.

We had such a pretty morning today.  Mr D went outside to enjoy the sunshine and when he come in he brought me this beautiful flower from our rose bush.
Thank you Mr D.

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

You Gotta Have Hope

I was so delighted to see this bloom!!  It was hiding.

When Mr D pulled away the dead growth from another plant, this little jewel was there to greet him.

Peek-a-boo, I see you!

If you wanna enjoy the bloom....you gotta to plant the seed.

If you wanna drive a car....you gotta get a license.

If you wanna a good friend....you gotta be a good friend.

If you wanna laugh....you gotta hang out with funny people.

If you wanna dance....you gotta turn on the music.

If you wanna experience joy....you gotta have hope!!

Any dream that makes you come alive is a dream worth fighting for with hope.

Paper Towel Saga

Does your hubby ever go grocery shopping for you?

Bless Mr D's heart, he goes for me often.

We make a list and off he goes with his cell phone in his pocket.  Got to be sure he can call me if he's unsure of anything on the list.

The other day, paper towels made their way to our list....we were completely out!  Now he knows I like good paper towels and I like the ones that you can only use 1/2 of the towel, most of my jobs only take that 1/2 of a towel.

When he gets home and we're putting our items away I notice that the towels he bought had a design I wasn't familiar with.  I didn't say anything, no big deal, at least the design was blue which matches my kitchen,  That was a bonus, I don't know about your hubby, but Mr D has no sense of 'design.'  I'm sure he saw a roll of towels and in the buggy they went, the design could of been purple for all he would care!!  So, I do count myself blessed to have paper towels that look good on the counter.

So......I was rinsing our coffee pot the other morning and grabbed a towel instead of my dish cloth...I'm real picky about my dishcloths too.  I like them to stay white so I usually don't clean around the coffee pot or coffee bar with my dish cloth.  Anyway....I had my paper towel down in the pot and I noticed soap suds

.....what????......

where in the world were they coming from.  I was only using hot water, not any soap.

It didn't take me but a moment to realize the soap was coming from the paper towel.  Well did you ever?  I went over to the roll to check these towels out a little closer...Bounty with Dawn!!  I didn't even know they made such a thing.  I love them!!

Of course, we must be careful not to cover any food going in the microwave with them, we might have a mouth full of soap!  I really do like them though, great for the countertops, fridge and stove...in the bathroom...anywhere you need a quick wipedown.

Yes, Mr D did good and he didn't even know it!

Not 'till I told him anyway.

Took this picture when I was out with the dogbabies this morning.  I wish I had a better camera, the sun was hitting this bloom and making it look like pure gold.  So pretty!

Friday Foto Friends

I haven't been spending much time on the porch these days.  The heat and humidity are so bad making it very uncomfortable out there!  I can tolerate the heat, the porch is covered giving shade and I have a fan that keeps the air moving....but there is no controlling the humidity.  It must be from all the rain we've had this year.  The minute I open the door my glasses fog over and there is a sense of dampness that overcomes me.

Do I talk about the weather too much?  Sorry if I do....it's always on my mind!  We need  to move to Alaska!!

Now, with all that said.....
I was out with the dogbabies and noticed how pretty the flowers were looking...I think they like all the moisture in the air!

Do you see my new knock-out roses?  It has doubled in size since I set it out a few weeks ago, and just look at all the pretty blooms!

These little flowers are so white that they seem to sparkle in the sunshine.  Mr D loves this plant.

A little succulent planted in one of my old sugar bowls!

Even the artificial rose vine on the swing is pretty to look at!!

It's fun to be outside, I do enjoy it...
even in this very hot and humid weather!
(lol, I just can't get let it go...it's hot and humid!)

Thank you God for the world so sweet,
Thank you God for all this heat,
Thank you God for the birds that sing,
Thank you God for everything. -

Always Thankful!

November Hibiscus

Here it is November and my hibiscus is still blooming.  So pretty.

Feeling 'under the weather' this morning.  Cough and congestion, certainly not any fun.

Yep, this is me!  lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
