A New Sunset

A New Year

Time for New Beginnings.

God created the world as a sphere, which rotates on its axis every 24 hours and revolves around the sun every 365 days, ensuring we have an endless supply of new begginings.

A new year can signal a new you and me.  It provides us an opportunity for fresh starts.

I don't make resolutions, never  could keep them anyway.  But I do strive to make the coming year better than the last.

With that said, we don't have to wait for a new year, each morning is a new beginning, a time to make each day better than the day before.  In Psalm 65:8 we are told,  Where morning dawns, where evening fade, you call forth songs of joy.

Be joyful that we are given this blessing of new beginnings.

Let's begin this new year, and this new day,  praising God for the blessing of new beginnings.  He has so much in store for us, how can we not give Him praise and glory.

We had a sad New Year's Eve, Zeke, our sweet grand dogbaby croseed over the Rainbow Bridge.  He has been very sick the past few monthes, for a while medicines were keeping him comfortable and free from pain.  Sadly, the meds could no longer control his issues.

It's very hard to say goodbye to our precious pets.

Zeke lived and was loved at TamBo Ranch.

I Felt His Hand on Me. . .

We had a very quiet and peaceful weekend.  Friday evening and all day Saturday it rained and was very gloomy.  Being home was the best place to be.  The daughters and granddaughter kept us fed from Thanksgiving to last night.  Lots of turkey and dressing with all the side dishes, and plenty of desserts.

We didnt' go hungry that's for sure.

We did go for a ride Sunday afternoon, it was nice to get out for a little while.  We didn't venture too far, we're still in recovery mode.

Do you believe in earth angels?  When I was in the hospital fighting the brutal covid virus, I had several really bad days.  On one of those days a nurse named Kellye popped into my room like a ray of sunshine.   I don't know what it was about her, but she made a big difference in my healing.  My girls were calling the hospital everyday to check on me, they couldn't visit, and they also noticed how caring this nurse was and they bonded like sisters.  In fact, I was calling her my adopted daughter after just a few days.  I think God knew I needed someone to lift me, not just physically but mentally/spiritually.  When Kellye was getting me ready to leave, we said the 23 Psalm together, did He send this special young woman to be someone special for me?

When I got to the Rehab Hospital I was very distraught, I wanted to go home.  I had a little bit of a meltdown that day . . . nurses and aids and even the head nurse of the facility came and talked with me, yet no one made a difference.  About 7:00 pm the Head of Therapy came into my room, her name is Amy.  What in the world did she say that calmed my spirit?  I don't know, but when she left my room I was calm and at peace with the whole stinkin' situation.  Another person that God used as an angel to watch over me.

Yes, God does things like that.

2 1/2 weeks later I walked out of rehab, and never in those weeks was I upset again.  I know He calmed me and I know He used special people to visit with me.

When I walked out the door Mr D was there waiting for me, the car door was open, ready for me to get in . . . I sure was happy.   Someone else was beside the car, Amy!!  She came to see me off, I felt so blessed.

It doesn't matter how bad the journey, there's always a silver lining.

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 41:10

I'm here to say this scripture is true, I felt His hand on me.

Memo;
I learned that Kellye called the rehab hospital several times to check on me.  I don't even know her last name, but I'll never forget her.

Isaiah, a Bible within the Bible

 There are 66 books in the Bible.
There are 66 chapters in Isaiah.
Isaiah, a Bible within the Bible.

This morning I opened my Bible to The Book of Isaiah and somewhere in time I had hi-lited these scriptures.

“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.
 If you are willing and obedient,
You shall eat the good of the land;
 But if you refuse and rebel,
You shall be devoured by the sword”;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Isaiah 1:18-20

What the world needs, coming together, with the Lord's guidance, to reason out our differences.

How can something so easy be so hard for so many people?

And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”
Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
Job 2:2

FEAR

I'm sharing a video by Taisha Locke, she is the wife of Pastor Greg Locke.  I really enjoyed and agreed with what she had to say.

One thing she spoke of was 'fear.' Fear is of Satan. I have often read that 'fear not' is in the Bible 365 times, one scripture for each day of the year.  I decided to pursue that and discovered, it's not true. One source said it was mentioned only 75 times.

The Holy Spirit put on my heart, if He only said it ONE time, that's enough. One scripture to read once a day, every day, to remind us that we are not given a spirit of fear.

 2 Timothy 1:7 says, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

 Notice the word POWER, He gives us power over fear, we just need to receive it. How do we do that? We receive that power when we read His Word, when we pray and ask for that power,
 He is so ready to fill us, to comfort us, to guide us and lead us through all that we find fearful.

 Isaiah 41:10 says,
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

 I encourage you to get in the Word, grab His right hand and hold on, everything is gonna be okay.

How about some peace...? Yes, He gives us peace too!!

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

He has left His peace with us, you and me.
 Doesn't that make you feel good?

Until Next Time

Red Bird

If I were a bird, I’d sing a song
And fly about the whole day long
And when the night comes, go to rest,
Up in my cozy little nest.

Lazy days of summer are here, and Covid19 makes them even lazier.  Not much to do, all activities canceled, parks are closed . . . just staying home and living day by day as the Good Lord provides.

I'm a home body anyway so it's not bothering me as much as it is some people.  I enjoy being home, I enjoy porch-sitting and I enjoy visiting with friends and family via social media.  It's a simple life, but it's a good life.

Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings away all the same, knowing she has wings.
Victor Hugo

My porch is my happy place and my prayer room.

Through this virus storm, the red bird still sings, the flowers still bloom, and God still holds my hand.

AND

Life is still good.

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Isaiah 41:10

Passing The Days Staying Home

 Music is a wonderful passtime and music that praises our Savior helps with the concern of the unknown future.

One thing is known with certainty, there is a God, He is on His Throne and He cares for you and me.

Join me on the Rock.

♪ On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand, ♪

Spiritually speaking, the rock is Christ. Paul called Jesus a rock in 1st Cor. 10:4. In 1st Pet. 2, Peter refers to Jesus as the 'living Stone' and the 'precious cornerstone'. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

HYMN HISTORY:
Sometimes the grace of God penetrates into unlikely places. Edward Mote's parents were hostile to religion, but while still a boy Edward became a Christian through the influence of a cabinetmaker to whom he was apprenticed. As a man, he became a skilled cabinetmaker with a successful business of his own.

Regardless of the claims of his business on his time, Mote always found time to worship God. He was especially interested in Christian music, and one day felt inspired on the way to work to write down a verse that came to his mind. Before the day was finished, he had completed four verses. His new hymn began with the words, "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness."

Not long thereafter, Mote visited a friend whose wife was ill. It was a Sunday, and the friend mentioned that he and his wife liked to observe Sunday by singing a hymn, reading a scripture, and having prayer together. Mote had a copy of his hymn in his pocket, so they sang it. The friend's wife was so taken with the hymn that she requested a copy for herself. Encouraged by her interest, Mote had copies printed –– and soon found himself the author of a beloved hymn.

BIBLE VERSE:
Matthew 7:24 -
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

HYMN LYRICS:

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

The GLOW group did the neatest thing yesterday.  After some trial and error, we managed to connect together through visual private message.  Only four of us took part and we had so much fun.
 We plan to do it again next week and hopefully all six of us will participate!

I did some online grocery shopping with Kroger, when I checked out it gave me a next pickup date was Tuesday.  WoW....there must be a lot of people shopping online.  The stores are full of people and the shelves are mostly bare.  The sad thing is the stores are stocking, but people are over buying. 😞

Adoration Prayer

MeadowCrest Church ~ Pasadena, Texas
Adoration is an element of prayer that should always be included in our conversation with God. It involves praise and worship. We should always acknowledge God’s “worthship” or worthiness to be adored. Adoration is always appropriate whether our specific prayer requests have been answered or not. God deserves our adoration because He is God!

Light of the world, You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You

Hope of a life spent with You

Prayers of adoration simply means we exalt, esteem, bless and honor the Lord. We reflect upon His character—holiness, goodness, love, mercy, power, grace and dominion.

🎜And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me ðŸŽœ

Revelation 4:11, “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” In essence, we are to adore the Lord because He is worthy…He created all things, and brought everything into being because that is what He wanted to do.

♪ King of all days
Oh, so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above

Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor

When you draw closer to God through prayer, most of your prayer time should be devoted to adoring Him. I have learned that prayers of adoration opens the window of blessings and brings you into the very Presence of God Almighty. Often times the more you adore Him the need to make requests isn’t necessary. Since He knows what we need before we ask, He will grant our unspoken requests and give us the desires of our heart that are aligned with His will and plan for our life.

How awesome is that?

MeadowCrest Church ~ Pasadena, Texas
This is the second week that we have not met for GLOW.  I'm sure missing the love and sistership that we share.

FYI~ The first picture is of our Praise Team at MeadowCrest Church.  I am so blessed to say the young men are my grandsons and the young lady is my grand daughter-in-love.

Me and Jesus and Friday Foto

Me and Jesus got our own thing goin'
Me and Jesus got it all worked out

Prayer time on the porch each morning (when the weather allows) is my favorite time of day.  Sometimes I feel like God is smiling down on me in the rays of the sun.  The beautiful white clouds are His flowing white hair and the blue of the sky is the background to His throne.

Jesus brought me through all my troubles
Jesus brought me through all of my trials
Jesus brought me through all of my heartaches
And I know that Jesus ain't gonna forsake me now.

For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:19

John the Baptist ministered at a time of transition between the Old and New Testaments, a transition illustrated by a change in the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is given as a permanent, indwelling reality.  He is with us to clear up confusion,  provide direction, to guide, to comfort, and to counsel us in our daily lives.

Be filled with the Spirit, there is no limit to His loving presence.

Great Comforter, descend,
and bring some tokens of Thy grace.
Isaac Watts.

God poured out the Holy Spirit abundantly on us through Jesus Christ our Savior (Titus 3:6)

Did You Know?

** Did you know ? **

THE BUZZARD

If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner.

The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.

** Did you know ? **

THE BAT

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place.

If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air.

Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

** Did you know ? **

THE BUMBLEBEE

A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.

** Did you know ? **

PEOPLE

In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up!

That's the answer, the escape route and the solution to any problem....

just look up!

Love God ~ Love Each Other

Beautiful lyrics written by Bill and Gloria Gaither.

Loving God, loving each other,
Making music with my friends;
Loving God, loving each other,
And the music never ends.

They pushed back from the table
To listen to His words,
His secret plan before He had to go.
It's not complicated;
Don't need a lot of rules,
This is all you'll need to know.

Loving God, loving each other,
Making music with my friends;
Loving God, loving each other,
And the music never ends.

We tend to make it harder,
Build steeples out of stone,
Fill books with explanations of The Way,
But if we'd stop and listen
And break a little bread,
We would hear the Master say

Loving God, loving each other,
Making music with my friends;
Loving God, loving each other,
And the music never ends.

Just a Minute

I have only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it. . .
Just a tiny little minute,
But eternity is in it.

When your heart becomes one dedicated to God, you'll

RECLAIM

RETRIEVE

RESCUE

&

REGAIN

the minutes, hours, and days of your life for His glory.

What a precious gift time is!  I always want to be aware of my stewardship of this great award from God.  I want to always make good use of every hour, realizing that once spent, it can never be returned to me.

Peace

Before Jesus died, He offered comforting words to His disciples.  He explained that He was leaving His peace with them, to care and provide for them after He was gone.  His peace would serve as an internal mechanism by which they (and we)  could discern God's voice.

What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace,

Buried deep in the heart of my soul,

So secure that no power can mine it away,

While the years of eternity roll!
Peace, peace, wonderful peace,

Coming down from the Father above!

Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray

In fathomless billows of love!

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
John 14:27 ESV

The real, underlying reason why we're given peace to enjoy as a fringe benefit of our redemption and as a fruit of the Spirit is because peace is just naturally generated by the God of Peace.

And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful.
Colossians 3:15 CSB

Seeking God's Peace

Worry and fear have consumed my mind
The peace of God, I cannot find
God did not leave me all alone
It's the flesh within that does bemoan

I know that I shouldn't worry about my life
Should not show fear toward the strife
For in my heart I know God provides for me
He is the Father of my destiny

So, I give to Him all my worries of this day
As I seek His guidance and wisdom today
I pray for solitude from my Savior above
I pray for His peace and His endless love

I will allow Him to cleanse my mind
So that His peace I can find
For He never ever leaves me alone
And takes on my worries from dusk till dawn
