It's Hot Outside!

Here it is Monday afternoon and I'm still nesting at the kitchen table.  As much as I love porch-sitting in my swing, it's just too hot.  I tried to sit our for a little while yesterday but the heat was so bad even the light breeze was hot air.  It sure didn't take me long to get back in the house where it's nice and cool.

Thank you Lord for air conditioning, it is truly a blessed blessing!

I have a new coffee mug!!

It has a great message, I love that it will remind me each morning to Be Still and Let God.

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

My little angel, a constant reminder . . .

Hebrews 13:2

Don't forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.

Have you ever felt like you missed an opportunity to entertain an angel.  I have and to this day I regret the decision I made that day.  Mr D and I had just parked our car at a restaurant, as I was getting out of the car a person approached me asking for money.  Seems they were stranded and just needed a few dollars to get where they needed to be.  It caught me so off guard, I politely refused to help.  There are so many people out there that try to scam older folks.  We went on in to eat and I had the strangest feeling, one that did not leave for a long time.  I felt I should have helped that person.  I still get that feeling when I think about that day, and I truly believe that was an angel. It really makes me sad.

Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love

I've had another encounter with what I think was an angel.  A few years ago Mr D and I were shopping in Lowe's when he passed out and hit the floor.  It was one of my scariest moments.  Employees of Lowe's were so great and helpful, they were right there doing all they good.  Of course a small crowd had gathered around us, I was standing yet leaning over Dean trying to be sure of all that they were doing for him while waiting for the ambulance.  Out of 'nowhere' a young man put his hand on my shoulder and asked if he could pray over this situation, of course I said yes and bowed my head as this gentleman prayed a beautiful prayer.  Seconds went by and I turned to thank him, and he was gone.  I looked up and down the aisle, he was nowhere to be seen.  An angel??  Maybe so.

Luke 41:10

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee.

God's restoring servants, His heavenly messengers, have encouraged, sustained and lifted the spirits of many flagging saints; and they have changed many hopeless circumstances into bright propects

Angels Among Us

Do you believe there are angels among us?

I sure do!!

Oh, I believe there are Angels Among Us,
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.

They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love.

They wear so many faces,
Show up in the strangest places
And grace us with their mercies in our time of need.

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

Hebrews 13:2

Mary Killough and Dean Hutchins joined hands in marriage.
I was so blessed on that wonderful day, 59 years ago.

This anniversary is not only to celebrate the day we married but to celebrate every day we have spent together.

Friday Foto Friends

Hello Friday, you're back so soon!!

Texas Cloud Angel

This picture was on the local news this morning.  According to them this picture has not been photoshopped, I guess they checked it out.  It was taken just north of Houston.

I think it's awesome.

This was on Facebook....WoW....love these angels!
When I pray Psalm 91:11 these are the angels that come to my mind!

Quotes About Angels

Angels are spirit beings who are mentioned more than 250 times in both the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Bible.
Mary C. Neal, MD, To Heaven and Back
All the angels in the whole universe care about you;
and if God wants to dispatch them all,
 He can do it.
Dr. David Jeremiah

When my time to die comes, an angel will be there to comfort me. He will give me peace and joy even at the most critical hour, and usher me into the presence of God, and I will dwell with the Lord forever. Thank God for the ministry of His blessed angels!

The word “Angel” actually comes from the Greek word aggelos, which means “messenger.”

I Believe in Angels

For He shall give His angels charge over you,To keep you in all your ways
Psalm 91:11

I believe angels answer our call
Though usually they aren’t seen at all;
And I believe they’re standing near
To protect us from the things we fear.

I have seen my angel in disguise
When I needed help from someone wise;
And I believe angels are here
Because God loves us very dear.
Edwina Williams

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
Hebrews 1:14

Oh I believe there are, angels among us
Sent down to us, from somewhere up above
They come to you and me, in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love

Bless the Lord, you His angels,Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
Psalm 103:20

Have you ever entertained an angel?  I don't know if I have or not ~ but I feel we all have at one time or another.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
Hebrews 13:2

Surely something to think about....

Angel Blessings

May you be blessed with ...
Someone to care for, plenty to do,
something to hope for and good health, too,
achievements to be proud of, and someone to love,
whilst protected and guided by your Angels above.

An angel formed of purest love
Is sent to you from God above.
Ever watchful and always true,
An angel meant for only you.
To guide through darkness to the light,
To defend your day and guard your night.
May Angelic peace  come shining through
And hurry the blessings of God to you.

Angels minister to us personally.
Many accounts in Scripture confirm that we are the subjects of their individual concern.
Billy Graham

Angels Are Real

Angels are not the product of our imagination.  They were made by God Himself.

Think of it!!

Whether we see them or not, God has created a vast host of angels to help accomplish His work in this world.  When we know God personally through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, we can have confidence that the angels of God will watch over us because we belong to Him.

Inspiration from:
Angels
Ringing Assurance That We Are Not Alone
Billy Graham

I've always known that angels are mighty warriors, yet I always had this picture in my mind of cute little angel girls with wings and halo's.  Sweet, sweet, sweet!  But since studying angels the past few months I now have a new picture in my mind of angels.  They are BIG, they are beautiful, they have rainbow colors all around them, they are strong and mighty yet gentle and caring.  They are always alert and standing by to obey God's instructions.

For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
Psalm 91:11

Angels

So excited!

I ordered these 2 books last week from Christian Book Distributors and they came in the mail this morning!  WooHoo.    We have been studying John Hagee's "The Three Heavens" in my GLOW group.  Just so happens it's all about angels.  It has been a fascinating study and these books are going to really fit right in!

The Lord has blessed this man with the gift of evangelism and teaching.  A true man of God.  I am so anxious to open these books up and let the words enter my mind and my heart.

I'm also anxious to share with my GLOW sisters and all my dear blogging friends!  I see some 'Angel' post in the future.

From the back cover on both books...

Dr. Graham lifts the veil between the visible and the invisible world to give us an eye-opening account of these behind-the-scenes agents.  With keen insight and conviction, Dr. Graham affirms that:

*  God's invisible hosts are better organized than any of the armies of man ~ or satan.

*  Angels "think, feel, will, and display emotions."

*  Angels guide, comfort, and provide for people in the midst of suffering and persecution.

*  At death, the faithful will be ushered by angels into the presence of God.

A quote from Dr. Graham:
"If we had open spiritual eyes we would see not only a world filled with evil spirits and powers ~ but also powerful angels with drawn swords, set for our defense."

This scripture has been in my heart ever since we started our "The Three Heavens" study:

For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
Psalm 91:11

Memo:
I would like to give a 'shout out' to Christian Book Distributors."  I have used them for years and never had a problem.  If you're looking for something special, or hard to find check with them, they usually will have it.  No, I'm not getting paid for this, just rewarding a company for good service!

I'm gonna be busy reading!
